Meet Pam May
Lifelong northwest Missourian.
Advocate for the community.
"Putting People First" in everything.
Pam May grew up in Maryville, Missouri, and graduated from Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Music Education. Her family has deep roots in northwest Missouri. Her great-great-great-great grandfather, John Mozingo, was one of the first settlers in Nodaway County, and Mozingo Lake carries her family’s name.

Since 2020, Pam has volunteered at the Atchison County Food Pantry in Atchison, Kansas, working alongside dedicated community members to help local families. She is also an active member of Persisterhood in St. Joseph, where she participates in community outreach.

Pam and her husband, David, both from Maryville, have been married for 45 years. After 15 years in Platte County, they now call St. Joseph home along with their dog, Daisy. In retirement, Pam devotes her time to volunteering, caring for her family, and giving back to her community.

A lifelong advocate for feeding people, Pam fought to protect SNAP benefits during her 2024 campaign for Missouri’s 6th Congressional District. She now champions universal school meals to ensure every child has access to nutritious food. Her years as a legal secretary and paralegal at Legal Aid of Western Missouri in Kansas City taught her the importance of listening to people who are too often unheard.
In Jefferson City, Pam will continue that mission, listening to the people and advocating for the common good. Guided by Missouri’s motto, “Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law,” she is committed to putting people first and working for the well-being of all Missourians.
